Skip the canopy
This bed worked great as a transitional bed but I wish I'd saved $20 and skipped the canopy. The canopy never hangs straight, gets easily bent and if you need to remove it (like in the middle of the night) you have to take the bed posts apart with tools or risk having scary sharp posts sticking up. I have twin girls and both asked for the canopy to be removed within a couple nights.
Tip - Hold onto the stickers and put them on as a reward for sleeping in the bed. I put the foot rail sticker on after the first night they stayed in and the princesses at the headboard after the 2nd night saying the princesses were so proud of her. Great motivation.

Pretty Princess bed
The bed is pretty sturdy for a two-three year old. Just do not let them pull on the canopy because the fabric will rip. My daughter loved her princess bed, but shortly after having it she pulled at the canopy and the fabric ripped. You do not have to have the canopy on for the bed to be functionable. I will say to make sure you read the directions carefully to create a sturdy bed. This is not something you can slap together in a few minutes.
Good Transition Bed
I bought this for my grand-daughter because my daughter wanted to transition her from her crib to a real bed, but my grand-daughter was not quite ready for a big girls bed.
My daughter said this is well worth the money, but it is not a really, long lasting, sturdy bed. It is what we thought, a transitional bed.
It is made predominantly of stury, hard plastic. The part of the bed where the CRIB mattress goes had my daughter concerned about safety and sturdiness but has proved to be fine. This is NOT a bed for a child to JUMP on.
It is also very low to the ground which was a plus as my daughter did not want to worry about her daughter falling out of the bed (grand-daughter is 18 months old). The lowness of the bed is helping my grand-daughter learn how to get in and get out (actually didn't take her long at all. ha ha)
